Snax ‘n’ Sports for young people this Easter
‘Positive about Young People’ (PaYP) will again be running its successful Snax ‘n’ Sports (previously known as Chips ‘n’ Sports) activity programme for young people in Warwickshire this Easter.
The programme, which is absolutely free of charge, gives 8 to 13 year-olds the opportunity to take part in a range of sports and creative activities over the Easter holidays. Young people who take part in the scheme also get a free healthy lunch, which is why the scheme is called Snax ‘n’ Sports.
The Snax ‘n’ Sports sessions are run on a drop-in basis between 12 and 3 o’clock, giving young people the freedom to take part at any time - therefore, parents should be aware that young people are able to leave at any time.
Parental consent is required for those taking part in the schemes and young people and parents can find out more by logging on to the Snax ‘n’ Sports section of http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/payp
Mark Bolton of Positive about Young People for Warwickshire County Council said: “We want to encourage young people to be active and take part in these fantastic activities. Snax ‘n’ Sports is a great way to enjoy your Easter break and lunch is thrown in free!”.
Positive about Young People is a partnership between Warwickshire County Council and Warwickshire Police. The programme helps young people by giving them something positive to do and feel part of their communities. Last summer alone, ‘Positive about Young People’ ran over 60 summer holiday programmes in sports, music, IT and more, which benefited thousands of young people across the county including those with special needs.
