Treasure Chests at Leamington Library
Children aged between five and eight are invited to join staff at Leamington Library for a day of treasure and fun.
Treasure Chests organised by Warwickshire County Council’s heritage education division gives young children the opportunity to explore some of the artefacts kept at the County Record Office that illustrate Warwickshire’s past.
The session begins with an interactive story where children will be invited to take small roles and to have a say in how the story develops. The story introduces a treasure chest, filled with historic maps, seals and other fun items.
An arts and crafts workshop follows giving children the opportunity to create their own chests and decorate them.
Rowan Fisher, learning and outreach officer, said: “Treasure Chests is an ideal way to encourage children to learn about Warwickshire’s past and keep them stimulated and entertained in the process. We hope to see many children at the event”.
The event is free but all children must be accompanied by an adult. Places should be booked by calling 01926 742722.
