Youngsters dig in to Snax’n’Sports

Hundreds of young people from across Warwickshire have literally gobbled up the chance to take part in Positive about Young People’s successful Snax ‘n’ Sports programme over the Easter holidays.

The unique programme gives 8-13 year-olds across the county the chance to enjoy sports, arts, and even a healthy lunch, for free over the school holidays.

In Warwick, young people have been taking part in a wide range of activities including rounders, football and crafts. The central Warwickshire programme has been based at Priory Pools Park in Warwick, Acre Close in Whitnash and the Sydni Centre, Sydenham.

Mark Bolton of Positive about Young People at Warwickshire County Council said: “Snax’n’Sports is all about engaging young people in healthy, positive activities in their local community. We have had a really enthusiastic response to Snax’n’Sports this Easter and the programme is going from strength to strength.”

Positive About Young People is now gearing up for its summer timetable of activities, which is expected to include more than 60 holiday programmes in sports, music, IT and more. The summer programme is set to benefit thousands of young people across the county including those with special needs.

Positive about Young People is a partnership between Warwickshire County Council and Warwickshire Police. The programme helps young people by giving them something positive to do and feel part of their communities.
