Rugby’s Floral Success
Rugby Borough Council say a big thank you to all partners involved in helping Rugby to stay in bloom!
The Rugby in Bloom campaign is run by Rugby Borough Council with the co-operation of many local organisations, groups and individuals without whom the campaign would not be possible. The aim of the competition is to encourage sectors of the community to brighten up the environment with flowers.
There are two parts to Rugby in Bloom - a commercial section and a private section with various categories to enable residents living in the town and villages (with a variety of gardens) to participate. There are various trophies and prizes awards for all the categories. For the private entries the judges look for a good choice of plants, quality pf design and maintenance and good use of space.
This year sees Rugby representing the Heart of England Region in the National Britain in Bloom Competition for the first time. This is a unique opportunity to showcase to a wider audience what we can achieve when the Borough Council, Local Business and the Community all work together. Many of the displays are sponsored by local companies whose financial support is greatly appreciated, and recognised with signage adjacent to the displays.
