Sharon and Tracy work to kerb accidents in Nuneaton
Nuneaton superstore Asda is doing its bit to help youngsters learn important lessons about road safety by encouraging two of its employees, Sharon Hobbs and Tracy McCulloch, to work as volunteer KerbSafe instructors.
KerbSafe is a scheme run by Warwickshire County Council’s Road Safety Unit, which teaches children about how to behave on or near busy roads.
Sharon and Tracy have been helping children from Stockingford Infant School for the past three years and thoroughly enjoy helping pupils to learn new road safety skills.
Jane Smaldon, general store manager, said: “Asda Nuneaton believes strongly in helping our community and what better way than teaching children about road safety. Sharon and Tracy have taken being KerbSafe instructors to their hearts and love working with the school and the children.”
Stan Milewski, Senior Road Safety Officer at Warwickshire County Council, said: “Not only am I delighted to have Sharon and Tracy on our team of volunteers, but I’m impressed with Asda’s commitment to community issues – particularly road safety -with their support we have been able to deliver a valuable learning opportunity to children of Nuneaton.”
