Be aware of the line painters

Residents and businesses in Warwick, Leamington Spa and Kenilworth are being requested to work with Warwickshire County Council as a huge line painting operation gets underway ahead of the decriminalisation of parking enforcement in the town.

The decriminalisation of parking enforcement in Warwick District means the responsibility for enforcing parking restrictions moves from the Police and into local authority control.

The changes, which start on August 6, include improvements to the residents parking scheme and the introduction of on-street pay and display in certain areas. But first it is necessary to carry out some line painting which will get underway next Monday and continue over the next few weeks.

Contractors will be putting up warning notices advising vehicle owners which street they will be working in next. Vehicle owners are requested to co-operate with the contractors to allow the streets to be clear of vehicles for the works to be completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
