Building Safer Neighbourhoods together
Warwickshire County Council is lending its support to a campaign to promote neighbourhood policing in Warwickshire.
A national campaign officially kicks off on Monday (14 May) when all of the country’s 43 police forces will promote neighbourhood policing in their areas.
You may notice that a promotional banner and link to Warwickshire’s ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ website (http://www.safer-neighbourhoods.co.uk) are now available on the Warwickshire County Council website home page.
Warwickshire Police and their partners will be promoting the teams widely over the next two weeks to encourage people to find out more.
By clicking through to the website, people can access information on all of Warwickshire Police’s 31 Safer Neighbourhoods local policing teams. This includes details on the police teams’ style of policing, what the teams are trying to achieve, local crime statistics, and what the local policing priorities are for specific areas.
Chief Inspector Tim Bailey, Neighbourhood Policing Project Officer, Warwickshire Police said: “People have specific concerns in their own local areas, which could be anything from anti-social behaviour to cars being parked illegally outside their local school.
“By identifying these issues and trying to do something about them, through joined-up working with our partners like Warwickshire County Council, there is real potential to improve the quality of life of local people.
“Our regular PACT (Partnerships and Communities Together) meetings involve not only the police but also the county council, borough and district councils, as well as other statutory and voluntary agencies, all of whom are working closely together to make communities safer.”
