New cycleway planned for Tachbrook Road
A new cycleway along the Tachbrook Road in Leamington Spa, between Queensway and the High Street junction, is being proposed by Warwickshire County Council.
The planned cycleway will link to the existing cycle routes on Old Warwick Road, Queensway and the southern part of Tachbrook Road.
Together these routes will help people to make journeys by bike between south Leamington, the town centre, the rail station and other locations in the town.
It will be funded from the county council’s Local Transport Plan, which includes an aim to develop cycle route networks in Warwickshire’s main towns.
Cllr Martin Heatley, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, said: “Hopefully the new cycleway will encourage more people to cycle for local journeys around town, helping to cut congestion and pollution. Cycling is an excellent way to get fit and beat the queues.”
If you would like to comment on the cycleway proposals, the plans will be on display at Leamington library between 21st May and 4th June.
