New home for Atherstone registration office
Atherstone’s Registration Service will be relocating to its new home in the recently opened ‘Warwickshire Direct – North Warwickshire’ one stop shop in South Street on 4 June.
The current office at Warwick House, Ratcliffe Street, Atherstone – home to the service since 1990 - will be closed from 5pm on Wednesday 30th May.
The service will then open at the one stop shop from 9.30am on Wednesday 6th June 2007.
Atherstone’s residents will be able to register births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships at the one stop shop, which brings County, Borough and health services together under one roof. The registration service is managed by Warwickshire County Council.
The move means an improved service for residents, as registration appointments at the ‘Warwickshire Direct – North Warwickshire’ one stop shop will be available from Monday to Friday (appointments were previously only available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays).
The opening hours will be:
Monday, Tuesday 9.30am – 4.30pm
Wednesday, Friday 9.30am – 1pm
Thursday 1pm – 4.30pm
and from 4 June appointments can be made by calling 02476 348944 or 02476 348948.
Polly Dickinson, Warwickshire County Council’s Registration Services Manager, said: “Following a recent consultation, we decided to take up this opportunity to move our Atherstone registration service into the new one stop shop.
“The advantage of this relocation is that the registration staff will be able to see people for birth, death and marriage registration at the new centre, which has proper reception facilities and fully equipped private interview rooms.”
The ‘Warwickshire Direct – North Warwickshire’ one stop shop has a light and airy open plan area, better access for disabled people, improved waiting areas and private interview rooms. It also has a Self Service area with four computer terminals for people to access County Council and Borough information online.
