New cycle racks for Willows pupils

More pupils at The Willows CE Primary School in Stratford will be able to cycle to school thanks to some new cycle racks provided by Warwickshire County Council.

The school is keen to support cycling and pupils are encouraged to take Cycle Skills and Cycle Awareness courses, but there was nowhere to store their bikes.

Warwickshire County Council has now provided some new cycle racks in the school colours of green and gold as part of the Safer Routes to Schools initiative. This aims to get children walking or cycling to school instead of travelling by car, by making it easy and safe for them to do so.

Headteacher Janis McBride said: “I am delighted with the new cycle racks – the chance to cycle to school will improve the children’s health and fitness as well as reducing the number of cars around the school gate.”
