Digging out the local history
A former miner is this bank holiday weekend offering visitors to a North Warwickshire country park the chance to discover the location and workings of the once busy colliery on the site.
Pooley Country Park and Heritage Centre, near Polesworth, is holding the event on Sunday for a walk and the tour.
Follow up the walk with a visit to the Mining Heritage Experience or enjoy a drink in the cafe. Meet at the Visitor Centre at 10.30am for this two-hour informative walk.
The cost is adults £1.50; concessions £1.00; family (max. 2 adults + 2 children) £3.50.
