Thriller on cards for Warwick Library

A thrilling crime evening beckons for visitors to Warwick Library as three renowned authors take part in a ‘Meet the Author’ event on Weds 6 June.

The event, a partnership between Warwick Books and Warwickshire Libraries, brings together three of the country’s foremost crime writers. 

Peter James, a former film director who counts Al Pacino, Michael Caine and Robert de Niro among the celebrated actors he has worked with and who has sold over 50 million books worldwide, presents his most recent work ‘Looking Good Dead’, another chilling DSI Roy Grace mystery.

Peter is joined by Mark Billingham who will be showcasing his latest spine-chilling novel, ‘Buried’.  The one time TV actor and writer, who is also a stand up comedian will be discussing his story of DI Tom Thorne who is brought in to locate a missing boy.

Stuart Macbride, the self-styled ‘bearded raconteur, will also be on hand to talk in his trademark witty manner about his latest Logan McRae thriller, ‘Broken Skin’, set in the gritty heart of Aberdeen.

The event kicks off a programme of top writers who will be coming to the library over the next six months including Adele Parks, David Peace and Celia Rees.

Kate Mackie of Warwickshire Libraries said:  “This evening will showcase three of the best, and most entertaining, crime writers in the country.  I am thrilled that our partners in the event, Warwick Books, have been able to secure the services of such outstanding writing talents.”
