Making Waves!

Health care professionals and managers, carer’s, people with learning disabilities, were all ‘Making Waves’ at a Learning Disability Conference last Wednesday, 30 May in Guy Nelson Hall, Warwick School.

The conference, supported by People in Action, Warwickshire Quality Partnership board & Warwickshire County Council was a day of celebration, sharing & talking about current innovative work in the world of learning disabilities.

The grand finale was a balloon launch with over 250 multi coloured balloons, with our dreams & aspirations for learning disabilities attached to them being released into the sky over Warwickshire.

Hazel Ratcliffe, organiser of Making Waves, said
“It was a fantastic day with inspirational presentations, workshops and stands covering all areas of learning disabilities. The balloon launch was the culmination of a exciting opportunity for carers and people with disabilities to showcase some of the excellent work that is going on both nationally and locally.”
