Baby Olivia is first to register at One Stop Shop
Baby Olivia Grace Chetwynd, just 19 days old, was the first new baby to register at Atherstone registration office’s new premises in the ‘Warwickshire Direct – North Warwickshire’ one stop shop.
Proud parents, mum Sarah and dad Lee, brought little Olivia and her older brother, Thomas, to see the North Warwickshire registrars at their new offices at South Street yesterday (6 June).
The family, who live in Atherstone, were presented with a bouquet of flowers by Warwickshire County Council Registrar, Tricia McKean, to mark the occasion.
Olivia was born on the 18th May at the George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton.
Warwickshire County Council’s Registration Services relocated their Atherstone office into the one stop shop earlier this week (4 June), and opened for business at 9.30am on 6 June.
Their old offices at Warwick House, Ratcliffe Street, home to the service since 1990, closed last week.
Polly Dickinson, Warwickshire County Council’s Registration Services Manager, said: “Our registrars were delighted to meet the Chetwynd family and register baby Olivia’s birth.
“Registering the birth of a child is always an exciting and happy time, and we wish them all the very best for the future. We look forward to registering many more births at our new Atherstone premises.”
People can now register births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships at the ‘Warwickshire Direct – North Warwickshire’ one stop shop, which brings County, Borough and health services together under one roof. The registration service is managed by Warwickshire County Council.
The move means an improved service for residents, as registration appointments at the one stop shop are available from Monday to Friday (appointments were previously only available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays).
The opening hours are:
Monday, Tuesday 9.30am – 4.30pm
Wednesday, Friday 9.30am – 1pm
Thursday 1pm – 4.30pm
and appointments can be made by calling 02476 348944 or 02476 348948.
The ‘Warwickshire Direct – North Warwickshire’ one stop shop has a light and airy open plan area, better access for disabled people, improved waiting areas and private interview rooms.
It also has a Self Service area with four computer terminals for people to access County Council and Borough information online.
