Bedworth railway station improvements
Warwickshire County Council, in partnership with Central Trains, has delivered a package of improvements worth £165,000 at Bedworth Railway Station that will transform the station and improve journeys for rail users.
Cllr Martin Heatley, Warwickshire County Council’s Cabinet member for the Environmental, said: “The improvements at Bedworth have been delivered through the Warwickshire Quality Rail Partnership between the county council and the rail industry.
“The county council is committed to providing rail users with a better waiting environment, better facilities, better information and increased security. I have no doubt that the improvements will make a real difference for the people who use the station regularly.”
Rail users at Bedworth will benefit from new real-time Customer Information Screens, an Automated Public Address System, two new Anti Vandal shelters and seven new CCTV cameras at the station.
Mike Haigh, Central Trains Director of Business Development, said: “We are delighted with the improvements we have made at Bedworth Station. By providing increased security and comfort and improving the flow and quality of information, we are confident this will improve our customers’ experience. We are grateful to Warwickshire County Council for providing the funding for these improvements.”
Cllr Heatley added: “The involvement and support of Central Trains has been crucial in delivering the improvements and they would not be possible without their willingness to take on the management and long term maintenance of the new facilities.”
