Round Oak reunited as school searches for old boys and girls
Round Oak School in Leamington Spa has launched an appeal for old pupils and staff to get in touch and join them for a fond farewell to the school’s site in Pound Lane.
On Tuesday 10 July, Pound Lane will become memory lane when the special school holds a garden party to commemorate 18 years at the site. And headteacher Puffin Pocock wants as many old girls and boys as possible to join Round Oak as they bid farewell to the area. The school is moving to new school buildings on the Myton Road between Warwick and Leamington in September.
Headteacher Puffin Pocock, who has worked at the school since it opened in 1989, said: “Whether you were the class of 1989 or 1999 we would love to hear from you. We know that many people have fond memories of the Pound Lane site and we would like past pupils and staff to join us for our fond farewell.”
She added: ”We will also be using this opportunity to thank the local community for making us feel so welcome for the past 18 years.”
School pupils will be cutting a celebration cake and releasing balloons to mark the occasion. Guests will be asked to record their memories in a special book before embarking upon a real trip down memory lane as they are given a guided tour of the school.
The event will start at 3.15 and finish at 5pm. Those who were at Round Oak School should contact the school on 01926 335566.
