Engaged couples brave weather to view wedding venue
Engaged couples in Atherstone, armed with waterproofs and umbrellas, turned out to view the town’s newest wedding venue this week, despite the horrendous weather.
Nearly 40 residents took the opportunity to visit Warwickshire Registration Service’s new ceremony room, which is situated alongside the town’s recently opened ‘Warwickshire Direct’ one stop shop on South Street.
A special open day was organised by Warwickshire County Council registrars, who were hoping for good weather – especially so couples could appreciate the attractive gardens outside.
The ceremony room has been newly refurbished to a high standard, seats 40 guests and has the advantage of being situated in the centre of the town.
Diane Lampard, Superintendent Registrar for Warwickshire Registration Services, said: “We were very pleased with the turnout on Friday considering the weather.
“Our visitors included a number of couples who had already booked the venue and wanted to see what it was like. I am very pleased to say that they were all very favourably impressed.”
The first wedding in the new ceremony room took place earlier this month, when North Warwickshire Borough Council employee, Charlotte Phillips, who books out the ceremony room, chose to get married there herself. The venue is already proving popular, with bookings into September this year.
