Recycling only at Stockton Household Waste Recycling Centre

Works are underway at the Stockton Household Waste Recycling Centre to prepare it for increased usage during the closure of a nearby centre in Rugby.

The Hunters Lane Household Waste Recycling Centre will close on September 3 until Easter of next year for a complete transformation of the site.

However, to ensure that householders continue to have a service while the works are underway at Hunters Lane, a refurbishment at Stockton is getting underway from Monday.

As a result of these works Stockton is only accepting recyclable materials while the essential redevelopment works take place.

Warwickshire County Council is asking the public to take waste that cannot be recycled to their closest alternative facility.

Re-development work will take place from Monday until Friday, August 31.

The site will maintain its normal opening times, during the works:

Saturday, 9am - 4.30pm
Sunday, 9am – 4.30pm

However due to the lack of space while the work is ongoing, the site will only be able to accept the following materials:

Paper
Cardboard
Plastic
Wood
Green Garden Waste
Glass
Cans
Foil
Hardcore
Scrap Metal
Textiles

The closest alternative facilities are Hunters Lane in Rugby and Princes Drive in Leamington Spa. For directions or further information on the facilities available at these sites please contact the Waste Management Team on 091926 412 593 or visit http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/waste

Jo Ingle, Warwickshire County Council’s Project Manager in Waste Management, said: “Please bear with us while we are carrying out necessary works to the site. The lack of space at the site means that we cannot keep the site fully operational while the works take place.

“We are keen to maintain a level of service, therefore we will accept recycling only during this period. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
