Storytime spreads important safety message
Stories, games, puzzles and quizzes are being used to get across important road safety messages to youngsters during the school holidays.
Special activity packs are being used by Warwickshire County Council’s Road Safety team to spread safety messages to children who attend Out of School Clubs across the county.
The packs have been designed to give Out of School Club leaders all the resources they need to pass on road safety advice to children aged between four and 11.
Stan Milewski, Senior Road Safety Officer at Warwickshire County Council, said: “We only have two full-time Road Safety Officers to cover the whole of the county and although they visit around 200 schools a year, we do not have the resources to see every child. By providing Out of School Clubs with the Activity Packs, we will be promoting road safety to an even wider audience of children.”
