Final chance to go batty in North Warwickshire

The last of summer’s bat evenings is taking place at Kingsbury Water Park on Wednesday, August 22.

This is the last of a series of summer bat evenings organised by Warwickshire County Council’s Country Parks Service.

The popular events have been run at Ryton Pools Country Park and at Kingsbury Water Park during the summer months and, for this final one of the season, you’re advised to book early as the limited number of places always fill very quickly.

This batty event will take place at Kingsbury Water Park Park on Wednesday 22nd August, when those taking part will start the evening with a talk about these fascinating creatures of the night and hot jacket spuds in the Old Barn Coffee Shop, followed by a walk in the park to spot some bats when help will be at hand to help visitors spot these strange creatures that fly at night.

Meet at the Visitor Centre at 8.30pm. All bat detecting equipment will be provided but it would be useful to take a torch. Prior booking is essential.  Please ring Kingsbury Water Park on 01827 872660. Price: Adults £5.00, Under 16s £4.50 (includes food, but drinks are extra)

For further information on this event or for a free booklet giving the programme of walks and activities for all of Warwickshire County Council’s Country Parks, call Kingsbury Water Park on 01827 872660 or e-mail parks@warwickshire.gov.uk.
