Firefighters thanked for their generosity!

Warwickshire firefighters have been thanked by the Fire Service National Benevolent Fund for raising over £21,000 pounds for the charity.

The certificate was presented to the County Fire Officer William Brown thanking Warwickshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service for raising £21,101 which helped 74 beneficiaries of the charity.

Funds were raised through a variety of ways including charity car washes, stall at open days and flag days.

Like many charities, the FSNBF relies almost entirely on donations to fund their work.  Fire service personnel do a vast amount of fundraising on the FSNBF’s behalf.  The charity assists approximately 11,000 beneficiaries every single year, and has recently introduced new initiatives such as Child and Family Therapy programmes, which aim to enhance the quality of life for fire service personnel families who have a child with an illness or disability.

FSNBF Warwickshire Branch Chair, Stephen Haynes said:
“The £21,101 raised by Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service will go along way to assisting schemes like this and we are proud to be part of that. As well as raising money for the FSNBF, firefighters have also raised a substantial amount of money for both local and national charities. As a service we are really proud that so many of our firefighters choose to help so many worthy causes.”
