Go batty at Ryton Pools Country Park
Visitors are going batty for new bat evenings taking place at Warwickshire County Council’s country parks, and this Saturday an event is taking place at Ryton.
This is the third of this summer’s bat evenings being organised by the Country Parks Service. These popular events will be run at Ryton Pools Country Park and at Kingsbury Water Park during the summer months and you’re advised to book early as the limited number of places always fill very quickly.
This batty event will take place at Ryton Pools Country Park on Saturday when those taking part will start the evening with a slideshow about these fascinating creatures of the night, followed by a walk in the park to spot some bats when help will be at hand to help visitors spot these strange creatures that fly at night.
Meet at the Visitor Centre at 7pm. All bat detecting equipment will be provided but it would be useful to take a torch. Prior booking is essential. Please ring Ryton Pools Country Park on 024 7630 5592. Cost: adults £1.50; concessions £1.00; family (max. 2 adults + 2 children) £3.50.
For further information on this event or for a free booklet giving the programme of walks and activities for all of Warwickshire County Council’s Country Parks, call Kingsbury Water Park on 01827 872660 or e-mail parks@warwickshire.gov.uk.
