Check if you've been cheated!
With complaints about car repairs and servicing featuring within the top ten complaints that Consumer Direct has received over the last 12 months, Warwickshire Trading Standards has joined forces with teams in Birmingham, Telford and Wrekin and Worcestershire to trial a unique 'Car Servicing' project in each of their areas.
Warwickshire Trading Standards will be on hand on Wednesday19th September 2007 at the Trading Standards Headquarters on Old Budbrooke Road offering a limited number of free checks to people who have on recently had their car serviced. Motorists must be able to provide the following information in order to have the free test carried out:
The car must have been serviced between 12th September and 18th September 2007.
The motorist must live in and have had the car serviced in Warwickshire.
A receipt/service schedule from the garage for the work that has been carried out must be provided on the day of the test.
To book your free test contact Warwickshire Trading Standards on 01926 414041.
Mark Ryder Head of Warwickshire Trading Standards Service said ‘‘This project is a fantastic opportunity for Trading Standards teams across the region to join forces and tackle those garages that are ripping consumers off. The project is designed to give people peace of mind that they have got what they paid for when having their car serviced and to help them check if they have been cheated by their garage".
Otherwise, if you are being driven round the bend by your garage or are unhappy with work a garage has carried out, you can contact Consumer Direct on
08454 04 05 06 for clear, practical consumer advice.
