Find out more about careers in childcare
Whether you have wondered what it is like to be a play worker or would like to know what it takes to become a registered childminder, a free careers event in Leamington should put you on the right track.
Warwickshire County Council is holding a childcare careers evening at the Sydni Centre, off Marloes Walk in Sydenham on Wednesday 19 September from 6.30-8.30pm. The event will include a presentation about the wide range of career and training options available locally and there will also be an opportunity to chat to an Early Years Adviser. The event is free to attend and refreshments will be provided.
Participants will learn about many different roles in the childcare sector, in nurseries, pre-school playgroups, out of school clubs, crèches and as childminders.
Ruth Holwell from Warwickshire County Council’s Early Years and Childcare Service said: “Working in early years childcare is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding jobs you can do and there is a growing need for dedicated people to carry out this vital role. Warwickshire County Council believes children deserve the very best in childcare and early years education and we are there to support people who would like to find out more about careers in this highly valued sector.”
Participants will also get the opportunity to sign up to Warwickshire County Council’s special job matching service, which updates users on childcare vacancies every two weeks.
