Stockingford Infants call for governors to come on board

Members of the local community are being urged to come on board at as community and parent governors at Stockingford Infant School. The school is looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals who would like to give their time by playing a part in the school’s development. No special qualifications are needed although governors must be over 18.

The school is interested in hearing from parents and people who live or work in the local area and have a good understanding of the community served by the school.  The school would also welcome those who may bring specific skills to the role, for instance experience which may have been developed through business or community work.

As a governor, you will be asked to attend two meetings each term.  Training courses for new governors to help them understand the responsibilities of their role are held locally in the Nuneaton area.

Headteacher Gwyneth Evans said: “Earlier this year we opened our brand new learning facilities at the school and we are going from strength to strength. The school is going through an exciting era and this is a very worthwhile opportunity for anyone who would like to contribute to the future of Stockingford Infants.”

Mary Aitken, Governor Support Officer for Warwickshire County Council, added: “By getting involved as a governor of your local school, you can help to make sure the children in your community receive the highest standard of education possible and achieve their full potential.”

Further information and an application form can be obtained by contacting the school on 024 7638 2277.
