Careers explored at Bedworth event

Everything from a career in a zoo to the armed forces will be explored at a careers event this Thursday in Bedworth.

On Thursday Year 11 students from Nicholas Chamberlaine Technology College in Bedworth will be taking part in the ‘Careers 4 U’ event organised by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership.

The event is aimed at providing students with an insight into different careers, which may help them to make more informed decisions about their immediate futures.

The students will have the benefit of hearing from business representatives from companies such as: Dairy Crest, Newdigate Builders, Warwickshire Fire and Rescue, Twycross Zoo, Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Care, NBBC Sports Development, Connexions, Land Rover, Jaguar, Warwickshire Police and the Armed Forces.

The visitors will talk to small groups of students about their job roles, qualifications required, entry routes, career progression opportunities etc.

The students will have the opportunity to ask questions and to gain as much information as possible as well as taking part in various activities based around widening their knowledge of different career choices and labour market information.

Warwickshire Education Business Partnership works as part of Warwickshire County Council with businesses and schools to help address the constant demand from employers for school leavers to be ‘work ready’.
