Customer Service Week - Tuesday 2nd October

The county’s ‘Warwickshire Direct’ partnership will be putting customer service in the spotlight today - Tuesday 2nd October, as part of this year’s national Customer Service Week.

A whole host of events are being organized by Warwickshire’s county, district and borough councils to celebrate the annual event, with the aim of encouraging local residents to access council and other local services.

The week will also recognize the achievements of those people whose job it is to provide good customer service in Warwickshire.

Today’s events:

Atherstone: Goodie bags will be given out at a market stall in the town and at Hunters Park Sheltered Accommodation between 11.30am and 2pm by Council Tax, DWP, Benefits, and Borough Care staff. At ‘Warwickshire Direct – North Warwickshire’, there will be Internet Awareness Sessions and the opportunity to sign up to the Credit Union for free.

Nuneaton: The Home Improvement Agency & Home Safety Team will be holding drop in sessions at the new ‘Warwickshire Direct – Nuneaton & Bedworth’ one stop shop.

Bedworth: Advisors from ‘Warwickshire Direct – Bedworth’ will be out and about at Bedworth Market handing out leaflets on the one stop shop and Customer Service Centre.

Rugby: There will be information displays in Rugby Borough Council’s main reception and housing department and the chance to win an iPod Shuffle by filling in a ‘Warwickshire Direct’ customer service questionnaire.

Leamington: Warwick District Council’s Customer Services Director will be going ‘back to the floor’, taking switchboard calls and doing reception duty.

Warwick: Warwickshire County Council’s Head of Customer Service and Access will be going ‘back to the floor’ at Shire Hall’s Customer Service Centre, answering calls and dealing with customer enquiries.

Studley: The ‘Warwickshire Direct’ bus will be in Studley (next to the Village Hall) between 10am and 2pm and advisors from Stratford on Avon District Council will be on board to hand out advice and information on a wide range of council services.

Stratford: Stratford on Avon District Council will be holding British Sign Language courses for its staff to improve their communication with customers with impaired hearing.
