Caring for thirty three years
A dedicated Warwickshire County Council worker has bid a fond farewell after 33 years service in the care profession.
Margaret Jefferies recently retired and though she is moving on to do different things during her retirement, her verdict on the cares services was – ‘it really does make a difference.’
Margaret who worked as a Home Carer for Nuneaton and Bedworth Home Care Service said
“The work we do really makes a difference to people’s lives, most of the people I support want to stay in their own homes and without us they wouldn’t be able to, that’s what gives me so much satisfaction.”
Joanne Allen, Nuneaton Home Care Manager, Warwickshire County Council, said
“Margaret has seen many changes during her 33 years service, not least of all the transition of her role from Home Help to Home Carer with Nuneaton Home Care.
She has always gained satisfaction & pride in her work of supporting people to live in their own homes, and she will be greatly missed by service users & staff alike.
“We all wish her a long & happy retirement.”
Margaret is off to sunnier climates and plans to spend a few months in her Tenerife Apartment before she decides what else she wants to do with her time.
