New service for families in Warwickshire

Support and advice for families in Warwickshire is now just a phone call or a click away, thanks to a brand new service launched this week.

Families in the county are now able to access a wide range of free and impartial information and support from Warwickshire County Council’s new Family Information Service (FIS).

The Family Information Service builds on the success of the county council’s Children’s Information Service, which has been giving out information about childcare and family services for nearly 10 years.  The new service now holds even more information relating to children and young people right up to the age of 20.

The Family Information Service is the first point of contact to meet the needs of Warwickshire young people, parents and carers looking for information about anything from childcare and education to support services and benefits, with much more in between.

Councillor Izzi Seccombe, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, launched the service at Shire Hall in Warwick this week.

Councillor Izzi Seccombe said: “We are delighted to launch the new Family Information Service, which is for all families in Warwickshire. Our successful Children’s Information Service has now grown up and become a family service, to incorporate a much wider range of advice, information, help and support – everything the modern family needs.

“We would encourage families in Warwickshire to put this free service to the test and we will try our very best to help you with any questions you may have.”

The Family Information Service helpline number is 0845 090 8044 and the website is http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/fis
