Archaeology uncovered in Bidford

Budding archaeologists and those interested in delving into history’s hidden stories should head along to an event this weekend, which is being organised as part of the Buried under Bidford project.

Warwickshire County Council’s Museum Field Services will be holding Post Excavation Training Sessions on Saturday from 11am – 3pm.

The event is being held at the St Lawrence Church Hall in Bidford on Avon.

Christina Evans, Archaeological Project Manager with Warwickshire County Council’s Museum Field Services, said: “Come along and see what has been found at our recent fieldwalking events in Bidford – did we find any evidence of the Romans in Bidford?”

Those attending will be able to join the county council’s archaeologists and help them to process the latest finds.

There will also be opportunities to be among the first to learn more about the archaeology and heritage of Bidford on Avon.

No previous experience is required and everyone is welcome.
