Pupils get a taster of job interviews

The world of post-school job interviews may not be so daunting for pupils who take heed of advice given at a forthcoming “Interview Skills” event.

Year 11 students from Manor Park Community School in Nuneaton will be having the luxury of a ‘Practice Interview’ with local business representatives over two days of the 30th and 31st October.

They will previously have received a Student Guidance Pack, which explains the purpose of the interview and gives the students tips on preparing for future interviews and completing application forms.

The experience is to give students a taste of a ‘real life’ interview before undertaking job or college interviews on leaving school.

The event has been co-ordinated by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership.

Local businesses attending to interview the students include: Fab ‘n’ Fix, Stagecoach, Land Rover and the Armed Forces.

Warwickshire Education Business Partnership works as part of Warwickshire County Council with businesses and schools to help address the constant demand from employers for school leavers to be ‘work ready’.
