Enterprising pupils get a pizza the action

Bedworth school pupils will be testing their enterprising skills when challenged to launch and run their own takeaway pizza business.

On Friday, 2nd November, Year 11 students at Nicholas Chamberlaine School will be taking on a brand new Business Challenge co-ordinated by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership.

The 15 and 16 year olds will be participating in a computerised business simulation which will involve them setting up and running a takeaway pizza shop.

They will have to use their enterprise skills such as teamwork, innovation, perseverance and decision making to complete the exercise which will include tendering for a suitable shop site and making marketing, finance and personnel decisions, with a view to maximizing profit.

The students will be guided by expert advice from local business representatives from companies such as Merlin Electrical, Coventry Building Society, MIRA, Dairy Crest and the Army.

Warwickshire Education Business Partnership works as part of Warwickshire County Council with businesses and schools to help address the constant demand from employers for school leavers to be ‘work ready’.
