Warwickshire Rural Hub celebrates its 1000th member

Warwickshire’s rural community has been enjoying a celebration and a welcome break from a tough year which has brought floods, foot and mouth disease outbreaks and bluetongue.

The Warwickshire Rural Hub – backed by Warwickshire County Council – is a business support organisation, which is led by farm and rural businesses across Warwickshire and Solihull.

It has reached the milestone of attracting its 1000th member.

Since it was established in 2003 by a group of farmers who wanted to help themselves and take control of their own destiny, the Hub has grown from strength to strength.

The primary aim of the Hub is to drive forward innovative, commercial activity in five key areas decided as a priority by its members, namely:- food, rural tourism, bioenergy and non-food crops, waste management and core agriculture.

The 1000th member is Geoff Clarke from Rugby who, with his wife Ann-Marie, has used the Hub for information and advice with his diversification into a rare breed’s red meat business.

The celebration took place this week at the Arthur Rank Centre, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
