Van challenge for enterprising pupils
Year 10 pupils at North Leamington School are having their business skills put to the test as part of two enterprising mornings tomorrow and Thursday.
The Year 10 pupils will be split into two groups, with half of the year group undertaking the task on each day.
Warwickshire’s Education Business Partnership is challenging them with a production exercise called Sam’s Vans.
This is all about working as a team and working together to produce vans for a sweet company.
The idea is that the young people can come to grips with finance and production, communication skills, teamwork, being creative and utilising each other’s key skills to work together and create a product.
Representatives from the following companies will be attending the sessions, Milward Brown, HSBC, Warwickshire Police, IBM, Jaguar/Landrover, and Conoco Philips.
Warwickshire Education Business Partnership works as part of Warwickshire County Council with businesses and schools to help address the constant demand from employers for school leavers to be ‘work ready’.
