Residents offered advice on how to cope

Residents in south Warwickshire are being offered support and advice to help them cope with the effects of the tragic incident in Atherstone-on-Stour, where four firefighters: Ian Reid, Darren Yates-Badley, John Averis and Ashley Stephens lost their lives.

The leaflet – ‘To help you cope’ has been produced by Warwickshire County Council with the support of health and voluntary agencies.

The aim of the leaflet is to provide communities with key information on coping strategies for those who may have been affected by the incident.  It includes how to know when you may need to seek professional support as well as contact details of voluntary agencies such as the Salvation Army, Samaritans, Assist and Cruse Bereavement Care.

The leaflet will be available in GP surgeries, libraries, Stratford District Council, Area Offices, CVS Stratford, local supermarkets and through parish councils.

Drop in sessions are also being run by Springfield Mind (Stratford & District Mental Health Association) over the next three weeks. Trained counsellors will be available at each session and will refer people for further support if appropriate.
Dates are below:

Wednesday - Town Centre Hall, Shipston 11am-3pm
Thursday - Alcester Pavillion, 11am-3pm
Fri - Stratford picture house, 11am-3pm
