Festive Fayre and Fun Day at Ryton

A Festive Fayre and Fun Day is taking place on Sunday, December 2, at Ryton Pools Country Park to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.

Not only will there be lots of children’s craft activities laid on for their enjoyment, but there will also be plenty of fun for adults too! Children and adults can make Christmas decorations, there will be mask making for the younger visitors as well as a fun Treasure Trail in the park.

The very large Christmas Tree in the courtyard will be waiting to be dressed and there will be seasonal songs to join in with, courtesy of The Outreach Singers. Bird of prey demonstrations will be taking place, and visitors will be able to meet the birds up close too. And last, but certainly not least, is Father Christmas, who will be in his grotto with gifts for the children.

A small craft fayre will be taking place in the courtyard area, where seasonal gifts and both homemade and handmade products will be on sale. Stalls are still available and anyone wanting details should call Ryton Pools Country Park on 024 7630 5592.

The Ryton Pools Country Café will be open throughout the day, serving hot and cold food – some with a seasonal theme – and the park’s gift shop will be open to help solve Christmas present problems – choose from annual parking permit gift tokens, the Country Parks Service’s own calendar and walking books and lots, lots more.

Various small fees will apply to the individual crafts and Treasure Trail and there will be a £2 charge for each child to visit Santa’s Grotto.  The fun will take place throughout the day from 10.30am until 3.00pm.
