Gauntlet thrown down to enterprising students

Year 9 students from George Eliot Community School (A Business and Enterprise College) are today taking part in an Enterprise Challenge Event co-ordinated by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership.

The event will involve students working in teams with local business people to guide them through a series of challenges, which will enhance their enterprise skills and also work on effective communication, teamwork, time management and problem solving.

The main challenge of the day will involve students coming up with an innovative business idea which they have to market and produce cash flow forecasts for as well as a business plan which they have to use to present their ideas which will be judged by the business facilitators attending.

The pupils will receive business advice and guidance from representatives of local businesses such as Coventry Building Society, Land Rover, 3M, Connexions and Pastels Day Centre.

The event has been co-ordinated by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership, working as part of Warwickshire County Council with businesses and schools to help address the constant demand from employers for school leavers to be ‘work ready’.
