George Eliot pupils enjoy enterprising experience
Year 9 students from George Eliot Community School (A Business and Enterprise College) have taken part in an Enterprise Challenge Event co-ordinated by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership.
The event involved students working in teams with local business people to guide them through a series of challenges. The aim was to enhance their enterprise skills, and they also worked on effective communication, teamwork, time management and problem solving.
The main challenge of the day saw students coming up with an innovative business idea which they had to market and produce cash flow forecasts for as well as a business plan which they then had to present to the business facilitators attending.
The business advice and guidance was from representatives of local businesses such as Coventry Building Society, Land Rover, 3M, Connexions and Pastels Day Centre.
The event was co-ordinated by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership, working as part of Warwickshire County Council with businesses and schools to help address the constant demand from employers for school leavers to be ‘work ready’.
