Walks packs and calendars make great stocking fillers

Warwickshire County Council’s Countryside Recreation team are offering two great ideas for stocking fillers this festive season.

A new pack of 12 colour leaflets details walks and gentle strolls around the county for all abilities.

The pack has been designed to give people all the information they need to have a great day out in the countryside where they can do themselves some good at the same time.

It includes routes around lakes, along canals, through woods and across parks. All the walks are easy to complete, with the shortest being less than half a mile and the longest four and a half miles.

Many of the walks in the pack are suitable for less able people or those in wheelchairs or pushchairs and each leaflet gives helpful information about the length of the route, the surface of the paths and the types of gates and facilities at the site. The pack is on sale at £1.50.

And what better way to remember the beauty of the countryside in Warwickshire than to purchase a calendar depicting scenes from all the country parks in the county. At only £2.25, they make an ideal gift.  Buy two and get a third one free.

The gift shops at both Kingsbury Water Park and Ryton Pools Country Park not only sell both the Countryside for All packs and the fabulous calendars, but they also have a great range of other books and gifts suitable for Christmas. Mail order is also available via Ryton Pools Country Park by telephoning 024 7630 5592.
