Following the collapse of the Farepak hamper company in 2006, Warwickshire County Council's Trading Standards Service is supporting a national campaign to help consumers decide how best to save for Christmas.

Following the collapse of the Farepak hamper company in 2006, Warwickshire County Council Trading Standards Service is supporting a national campaign to help consumers decide how best to save for Christmas.

The ‘Saving Xmas’ leaflet, (produced by the Office of Fair Trading), provides consumers with information on a number of popular savings vehicles ranging from a standard bank account to a Christmas hamper and voucher scheme.
Consumers can compare the different options available and the benefits each offers, for example whether their money is protected or the scheme pays interest or a bonus etc.

Warwickshire County Councillor Richard Hobbs, Portfolio Holder for Community Protection said:

“. It will be of great assistance to those wanting to weigh up the risks associated with differing savings options and will help consumers make the best choices for their circumstances.”
