£40,000 fine for planning breach
Rugby Magistrates fined Christopher Reilly £40,000 for breaching a planning enforcement notice and also ordered he pay costs to Warwickshire County Council.
Mr Reilly of Clifton upon Dunsmore, near Rugby, pleaded guilty to four charges made against him by the County Council for failing to comply with the enforcement notice which required the depositing, storing and processing of waste materials on land known as ‘The Fisheries’, Watling Street, Newton, Clifton upon Dunsmore to stop, the waste materials be removed and the land together with two fishing ponds be restored to their former condition. Mr Reilly is joint owner of the land at ‘The Fisheries’.
Martin Stott, Head of Environment and Waste at Warwickshire County Council said: “The fines imposed by the Magistrates today should act as a real deterrent against any person from carrying out development and operations in breach of planning rules.”
