Somewhere to go and something to do for under 18s

Stratford’s Youth Forum have organised another ‘Minus 18’ club night at the Shakespearience on Waterside in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Minus 18 is an event for young people in South Warwickshire, with live DJs and entertainment for 13 to 18 year olds.

The next event is a Valentine’s special on Thursday 7 February from 7.30 -11pm and costs £3.50 (payable on the door).

The Minus 18 night is funded by Youth Bank and the Youth Opportunity Fund - both funds are accessed by young people on the forum to subsidise the running of these events across the year. Warwickshire County Council’s Youth & Community Service and Connexions support Stratford Youth Forum.

Gail Newood, Area Participation Worker for Warwickshire County Council, said: “The young people on Stratford’s Youth Forum wanted to to organise their own night of music for the 13-18 age group in the area and we hope as many people as possible will come to support the night.”

The Youth Opportunity Fund is a DCSF initiative operated through Warwickshire County Council’s Children, Young People and Families Directorate.  The aim of the fund is to involve young people, especially those who are hard to reach, in identifying positive activities and things to do. A panel of 50 young people in Warwickshire are involved as decision makers, grant givers and project leaders for the fund.
