Minister visits Stockingford Early Years Centre
Minister of State for Public Health, Dawn Primarolo, has paid a visit to Stockingford Early Years Centre and Library.
The Warwickshire County Council run early years centre at Stockingford has been selected to take part in a pioneering national pilot project to help parents of the under-fives.
The Department of Health’s Early Years Life Check pilot project is a web-based scheme, which helps parents to improve their family’s health and wellbeing.
Parents, who have already tried out the project at Stockingford, have been impressed with the system which helps them to explore health concerns and access information about children’s health and development.
Norma Smeaton, Head of Early Years and Childcare at Warwickshire County Council, said: “The Minister was really interested in our work in Stockingford to improve the outcomes for local children and their families. This exciting scheme is all about empowering parents to address health concerns and make positive changes, and we hope many more families will benefit from it.”
