North Warwickshire pupils are challenged to get enterprising
Year 10 students from Polesworth School will be taking on an Enterprise Challenge co-ordinated by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership on Wednesday, February 27.
The event will see the 15 year olds taking part in a business simulation where they will design and market a matching pair of charity plates.
The activity will involve financial and marketing decisions as well as concentrating on teamwork, communication and problem solving skills. At the end of the challenge the teams will present their work with details of their designs, marketing strategies and the amount of profit accumulated for their chosen charity.
For the final session of the morning the students will be involved in a fashion show with a difference – they will have to design an innovative item of clothing from a black bin liner, coloured paper, string and felt tips. A volunteer from each group will then model their creations on the catwalk.
The EBP works as part of Warwickshire County Council with businesses and schools to help address the constant demand from employers for school leavers to be ‘work ready’.
