Joint concert by young performance groups

Two of Warwickshire’s most talented young performance groups will be giving a combined concert in Nuneaton on Saturday 15 March.

The County Youth Chorale, directed by Garry Jones, Head of Warwickshire County Council’s Music Service, and the County Youth Waits, directed by Alison Kinder, will be giving their joint performance at St John’s Methodist Church at 7.30pm on Saturday March 15. Tickets, which are available on the door, are £7 or £3 concessions.

Michael Williamson, Manager of County Performance Groups, said: ”The programme will consist of music performed by each group separately and they will also present one combined item together which will be an exciting opportunity to hear the Youth Chorale supported by a band of Renaissance instruments.”

The Warwickshire County Youth Chorale is a mixed voice choir aged between 14 and 21, which sings music in a wide variety of styles, to a very high standard. The Warwickshire County Youth Waits is a well-established group, which offers young musicians the experience of playing the energetic music of the renaissance band repertoire. The instrumental range includes violins, viols, recorders, cornets, sackbuts, crumhorns, cornamuses, shawms, percussion, harp, rebec and voice.
