Have your say on crime priorities in South Leamington
People in South Leamington are being encouraged to raise any concerns they may have about safety in their local community at the latest meeting of the area’s Safer Neighbourhoods Panel.
The meeting will take at the Healthy Living Centre, Shrubland Street at 6.30pm on Monday 14th April. Safer Neighbourhoods Panels are typically made up of representatives from the Police, local authorities, Neighbourhood Watch, residents associations and the business community.
A public surgery, where people can raise their concerns face-to-face and help determine policing and crime prevention priorities for the area, will take up the first part of the meeting.
The Police and other panel members, including representatives from Warwickshire County Council, will be available to discuss any specific issues and problems.
Bill Evans, Chair of the South Leamington Safer Neighbourhoods Panel, said: “We look forward to individuals coming to the Healthy Living Centre on the 14th April and benefiting from this chance to raise their concerns and put forward suggestions for dealing with them in a relaxed setting.
“We would like the local community to work with us to help lay down policing and crime prevention priorities in South Leamington.”
The Safer Neighbourhoods Initiative has now been in existence for just over a year. Introduced as part of the Government’s drive to provide every community in the country with its own dedicated Neighbourhood Policing Team, communities in Warwickshire are served by several Safer Neighbourhood Panels.
Warwickshire County Council is involved in the Safer Neighbourhood Panels as part of its commitment to protecting the community and making the county a safer place to live.
