Nuneaton pupils represent county
Pupils from George Eliot and Higham Lane schools in Nuneaton have sadly missed out on the top prize after joining forces yesterday to represent Warwickshire at a regional event at the NEC.
A joint team of Year 10 students from Higham Lane and George Eliot Business & Enterprise Colleges represented Warwickshire in yesterday’s Regional Enterprise Challenge.
They competed against six other regions on a challenge based around regenerating a piece of land in their area for the 2012 Olympics but that would also benefit their local community.
The teachers accompanying the students also competed as a team to meet the challenge.
The students were able to ‘purchase’ time from experts from the local business community to assist their decisions. The challenge finished with the students presenting their project to a panel of judges.
Gail Wright from Warwickshire Education Business Partnership said: “The team were unfortunate not to win the challenge. The work they produced was excellent”.
Warwickshire Education Business Partnership is a part of Warwickshire County Council and works to ensure that pupils are ‘work ready’ when they leave education.
