Spot a mistake and win a prize
Accuracy and attention to detail has gone out of the window for Warwickshire County Council as a campaign is launched where people are being invited to ‘spot the deliberate mistake’ on four posters now on show around the county.
There are four different posters currently being advertised on buses and trains in the county, and hidden in the text in these posters are a few deliberate mistakes.
Anyone not spotting the posters can also get a sneak peak at them on the county council’s tourism website by visiting http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/goldoffers and then heading to ‘spot the mistake’.
Simply spot these mistakes and contact Warwickshire County Council by emailing tourism@warwickshire.gov.uk or calling on 01926 412136 and identify at least one of the mistakes to be in with a chance of a prize. Simply state ‘Spot the Mistake’ and what exactly it is.
Prizes include a set of four free tickets to Warwick Castle, discounts off meals at award winning restaurants in Warwickshire and much more.
The spot the mistake competition comes just weeks after the launch of the Warwickshire Gold Offers on http://www.enjoywarwickshire.com, listing special offers available in the county from tourism related businesses.
All Warwickshire businesses within the accommodation, restaurant, visitor attraction and retail sectors have been invited to submit special offers to a Warwickshire Gold Offers webpage. These could take the form of a two for one offer or a percentage discount, and can be an existing or a specially created offer.
To take advantage of any of the offers, users simply need to visit the website at http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/goldoffers to check out what’s available and confirm the terms of the offer prior to their visit. Businesses have the opportunity to add their own Gold Offer can do so from the webpage by following the onscreen instructions. This service is entirely free to all Warwickshire businesses.
To raise awareness of Warwickshire Gold Offers further, the county is using an Advantage West Midlands marketing campaign to advertise on Stagecoach and county council buses and across trains throughout the midlands from Wolverhampton down to High Wycombe.
Further promotion will take place via the Warwickshire County Council website and emails to residents and tourists, inviting them to visit the webpage to see what offers are available.
Nearly 150 businesses in the county have signed up to the Gold Offers scheme, with over 50 from Stratford District/35 from Warwick District/over 15 from Rugby/nearly 20 from northern Warwickshire, ranging from Stratford Butterfly Farm to Simpson’s Fishmongers.
Councilor Chris Saint, Warwickshire County Council’s portfolio holder for economic development, said: “After the challenges that the floods presented tourism businesses with last year, the county council’s gold offers scheme was a great aid in putting across the message that Warwickshire was still open for business.
“We are grateful to Advantage West Midlands for giving us the opportunity to further develop Warwickshire’s tourism trade beyond the county. We hope that this push from the county council will help bring in a good deal of the tourism trade to Warwickshire as more and more people across the country realise what we have to offer.”
Some offers within the scheme are only open for a set period so please make sure you see the website for details on what’s available. There are already some excellent offers available, with new offers advertised every day so make sure you don’t miss out! To find out what is available go to http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/goldoffers
