Council Staff make Charitable Contribution

Staff from Warwickshire County Council’s Resources Directorate have raised an impressive £5000 for charity.

The resources directorate was formed two years ago and, in that time, has held several quiz nights, dress down events, raffles and sporting matches to raise money for local and national charities.

This month’s dress down event saw donations for the last two years hit the £5000 mark.

Some of the charities to benefit from the money raised include – Castel Froma, Myton Hospice, Children’s Wards at George Eliot and Warwick Hospitals, Warwickshire Firefighters Families’ Fund, Children in Need and Helen Ley House.

Resources Portfolio Holder, Councillor Alan Cockburn, said, “I am delighted that so many worthy causes are benefiting from the contributions that we are making.  I would like to thank and congratulate Resources staff for their efforts and encourage them to keep up the good work”.
