Enterprising day for Atherstone pupils
Year 9 students from Queen Elizabeth School have been taking part in an Enterprise Challenge Event.
Co-ordinated by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership, the event involves students working in teams with local business people to guide them through a challenge which will enhance their enterprise skills and also work on effective communication, teamwork, time management and problem solving.
The main challenge of the day was supplied by North Warwickshire Borough Council, who want to regenerate a play area in Atherstone. The students researched sources and funding for play equipment as well as considering the impact of the area on the local community.
The students received business advice and guidance from representatives of local businesses such as DHL Exel, Connexions, Royal Navy, Warwickshire Police, Land Rover, Pastels Day Centre, and the borough council.
The event was organised by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership as part of their commitment to preparing young people for their adult working life.
